Well, tonight the great geek train will roll into town with the kick-off of Gnomedex. On the one hand, I will be able to meet the likes of Wes Crusher and the guy who came up with MTamazon. There will be tech giveaways and wi-fi.
On the other hand I will also be hanging with my partner in crime in Tahoe on my birthday at an event boasting an open bar. Something so cool you could possibly refer to it as “hella-anything” without me delivering a blow to your larynx.
Our ladies will be joining us on Saturday, once we have totally exhausted our appetites for geekdom.

Well, anyone who made bets on the sex of baby Adkins- your money is safe. Apparently the little tyke is modest; during the ultrasound yesterday he/she was bound and determined to hide its cash and prizes.
If anyone knows any good androgynous names other than Pat, Chris or K.D. please feel free to share.
*** Update ***
OK. Soooooo the Dr. couldn’t make out anything conclusive, but she did say that she was 80% sure its a girl. Apparently she got a hint when the baby did like a peekaboo deal for a second. Heidi has been telling me the whole time its going to be a girl, so she made me clear this up.

At 2pm pacific standard time we’ll be having the ultrasound where we find out the baby’s sex. I’m so exicted aobut it I didn’t need coffee this morning. I know some people like to wait for the surprise of whatever sex it is- please, hold your comments as you’ll be preaching to the choir.
I didn’t want to find out. I wanted it to be a big surprise. Heidi meanwhile hates waiting to find stuff out. We usually open our Christmas presents mid November. I came up with some pretty sound arguments like, “hey, the surprise will make the labor better- or thats what I hear.” I even tried the old, “what if the kid is a hermaphrodite? You really want to open that pandora’s box? You may want that looming over your head until delivery but I’m not for it.”
Finally I realized that she’s the one who’s going to have to squeeze a turkey out through a lemon so she wins. My job in bringing this baby into the world was a whole lot of fun. So if someone gets to decide when we find out- hey, it’s all her.
Remember. Today at 2pm. We’ll keep you posted.

Well, the big fancy site redux is done. I really dig it. If anything, it taught me just how freakin miniscule my knowlege of css was. It’s not totally done yet, so let me know if you notice anything looks wrong on your browser of choice.
Check out the swanky all-new features:
- New Photo Section
- New Category and Date Archive pages
- Cool new blogroll
- And much, much more!!!
I would never have got done without pete. He’s the man. Also thanks to Sean Bonner for giving me his opinion of the design. Oh, yeah. Special thanks to Vladimir Lennin and Dane Cook for inspiring the new look.

Since I want to be a comic someday, everyone is always asking me if I watch Last Comic Standing. It’s almost as fun as how people used to ask me if I play basketball because I’m tall.
Well I’ve now watched three episodes and I can confidently say the following:
LCS BLOWS.
Seacrest out.

Well, MT 3.11 wasn’t what you might call “installed” as much as “rammed overtop the old version”. Now it seems to be all good as far as the backend crap.
If things go all screwy from this point on it’s cause I’m gonna be messing with the look of it all. And because I’m drinking.
Ed and SoCo- your one-stop-shop for crappy redesigns.

My *first time doing stand up! I was so terrified I was certain I’d soil myself. There’s a flat spot in the last third of the set where one of my jokes starts falling apart, but I had a blast. Almost won too- woot.

All the background crap is done:
- Switched to edadkins.com
- Upgraded to MT3.11 (MT caught up to what I want to do, plus I don’t have the time to learn a new system.)
Now it’s time for the facelift. That’ll be going on all this week.

Tomorrow being Heidi’s birthday, I noticed something interesting. About a month ago I started monitoring an XML feed that alerts me if she’s put anything on her wishlist (ahhhh the many ways technology is allowing geeks to take the lead in the romance dept…).
I noticed yesterday that someone else is subscribed to it. Anonymously. Now, I don’t know who out there is keeping dibs on what the princess wants for her birthday, but you are really cool.
