First session- a panel on blogging strategies. It’s a bunch of guys who are nerd-celebrities.

No one has mentioned strategy.

It’s degraded to pretty much “The stuff I use blogging for is cooler than the stuff you use it for.”

At least we had a blast last night. When we walked in to the opening reception I imagined it would be all these internet legends talking about really cool internetty stuff the way we talk about whats for dinner. In reality it was a bunch of guys sitting at tables communicating with their laptops.

It didnt take long before we we’re in the casino- Jason playing poker and me taking care of his free drinks. I definately came out the clear winner for the evening.

  1. Dave Taylor Says:

Well, I’m a nerd-celebrity now? But, yeah, I at least had notes on “strategies for maximizing your blogging strategies”. We just never quite got to that topic, did we? :-)

  2. Adam Kalsey Says:

I had notes, questions, and ideas for the purported topic as well. But the questions from the audience quickly drove us away from that topic and every time I tried to bring it back around, the audience snapped back to the info-overload subject. Since that’s what people apparently wanted to discuss, that’s what we discussed.

I tried to bring up building traffic and blogger’s roles in the media, and Dave started talking aout how to use a blog to manage great content, but the questions just kept jerking us back.

Perhaps we can hold a webcast and actually talk about strategies for blogs. We’ll just hold the questions for later.

  3. Ed Says:

Whoa! I didn’t expect people to actually READ this thing.

Um… forget what I said, guys. I was all hoped up on cold-medicine that morning and had neon snot filling most of the space my brain should reside in.

    It was probably awesome.
