YASSER IN A COMA (for fans of the Smiths & Morrissey)
Found over at Jake’s Comedy Corner
Yasser in a coma I know, I know he’s delirious
The peace process may start again, this is serious
There were times when we could have murdered him
But now it’s better that something’s just happening to him
No we DON’T want to see him
Do you really think he won’t pull through?
Do you really think he’s finally through?
Yasser in a coma I know, I know it’s serious
My, my, my, my, my, my baby, goodbye
There were times when we could have strangled him
But you know then the whole world would call it a sin
WOULD YOU PLEASE STOP THE BOMBING?
Do you really think Abbas will pull through ?
Do you really think he’ll stop Hamas from killing the Jews?
Let me whisper my last goodbyes
I know – IT’S SERIOUS

So I found this website (link) over at Pete’s site that tells you the readability of your website. You plug in your address and it tells you the grade level people would have to be at in order to read your content.
Apparently I write at a 3rd grade reading level (3.41 to be exact).
So tell all the retards- EDADKINS.COM is the place for them! I look forward to intellectually stimulating comments like “ur funny Mr. web man!” and “more poopy!”

Self-realization. I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, when he said, “I drank what?”
If you love me, you’ll buy me every t-shirt from the movie “real genius.” link.

It’s been a tough time, these last few years. We’ve seen something we all loved- every single one of us- get abused and cheapened, and we were powerless to stop it.
It was anticipated breathlessly for decades- literally. A nation- nay, a world, dreamed of a day when it would become a reality. Then we woke to a nightmare- not of epic proportions, but of emptiness and fizzle.
But, fear not- for I just realized something which will set us all free.
George has not ruined our dream. He never could. No one can control the future (outside of perhaps Alan Greenspan or Simon Cowwell). For I predict that some day another will come to fill his shoes and make right all that he has trampled.

I watched the news without any sound and here’s what I could gather from the pictures:

Britney Spears has now mastered control of the wind and oceans by sheer will.

It’s nice to see that Saddam has found some honest work since that Brutal Dictator gig didn’t work out.

I see that the networks are still having trouble keeping indecency off during prime time

John Kerry speaking to a group of old people, trying to convince them that Bush is actually responsible for aging.

As usual, Donald Trump is engaged in deep thought. Or he’s sad. Or maybe gassey.

I have tasted the future… and it is good.
A few days ago our coffeemaker broke. I know- I should have told you all but I didn’t want you to panic. I immediately got control of the situation and seized the opportunity to upgrade the Adkins coffee arsenal. You see, in our ascent up the ladder of coffee snobbery, we’ve already acquired makers for Arabic, Vietnamese and Puerto Rican coffee. We’ve also begun buying our beans freshly roasted from a local roaster. But now, after seeing much fuss made over burr grinders at Sean Bonner’s site, we have completed the collection.
Enter the new weapons of mass caffeination:
DeLonghi DCG59 Retro Burr Grinder
Bodum Santos Vacuum Coffeemaker
Bodum Eileen 3-Piece Coffee Press Gift Set
I’ve actually been looking into these things for a while; I just had to wait for the coffeemaker to slip into oblivion before I could make my move. And let me tell you- it is much more than worth it. Combined, they don’t even cost as much as a nice auto-drip, but they put out coffee that’s ten times better.
I’ll geek out with you later on why they make a better cup o’ joe, but all you need to know right now is it tastes freakin awesome.

here’s a neato little tool I saw on Tech TV today when I should have been writing up case studys. For all you with websites out there trying to pick the right colors for your next skin:
pixy.cz
They’ve got this color wheel where you can see what colors go together to make your site look snazzy. It’ll do monochrome or complex colorschemes, you just pick the background color and it goes to work. Try messing with the brightness and contrast too. Cool thing too, it gives you the hex for each color so you can just cut and paste.

Whats the blog-o-verse yapping about today? Think the stuff I talk about is original? You don’t read many blogs, then.
Bloglines: Top links.
This feature lets you know what subjects are currently popular and who’s talking about them. Nice- I see a few things I’ve posted about lately. (check out that Khaan one- it’s worth a look-see)
We all rape and pillage one another for material, and sometimes we let you know who we got it from. I was taught by someone once in regarding public speaking that “the secret to being original is hiding your sources.” Nothing is original, this blog is simply my take on all the stuff I see flying about the net, the TV, the paper and whatnot.
(BTW, I’ve changed the “Blogs We Read” link in the top right to my bloglines page.)
